Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales is unperturbed by the bomb scare at her house in Muntinlupa yesterday.
Morales spoke to media in an ambush interview at the Office of the Ombudsman today.
Morales says the grenade with its pins intact, was in a package with the letters, “pangdensa, ccm, malakit.”
Morales says ccm is her initials but she doesn’t understand what the rest meant. ”it’s a grenade alright pins were there you have to pull them to let it blow.”
Morales says her family didn’t seem disturbed by what happen. “they’re okay they’re cool that’s part of the trade, part of the office.”
Morales says DILG secretary jesse robredo already suggested she beef ip her security. “ well I have some suggestions we’ll see cctv installed in house is being reviewed. we’ll see if there’s any security lapse.”
Morales said she was a fatalist, “”if its your time, its your time. I haven’t done anything wrong I’m not trying to malign people because they’re not your allies.”
Security around the office of the ombudsman compound was tight. Visitors and their baggage are thoroughly checked, employees compelled to wear their ID’s. vehicular entry into the compound is also restricted.
Meantime Morales also seemed cooler compared to her wrath at former Chief Justice Renato Corona last Friday. Continue reading
