The House of Representatives Prosecution Panel in the impeachment of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez has begun preparing for the coming trial even if its membership remains incomplete.
So far the Plenary has only formally appointed Justice Committee Chair Niel Tupas Jr, Senior Vice Chair Rodolfo Farinas and House Deputy Speaker Lorenzo tanada III as prosecutors. 8 more are needed to comprise the 11 required by the House. Continue reading

House Speaker Sonny Belmonte virtually put the matter of impeaching of Supreme Court Justices on the backburner.
