UPDATED: FORMER MILITARY COMPTROLLER POSTS BAIL

Former Military comptroller, major general carlos F Garcia posted bail close to the end of office hours yesterday at 430pm. The bail, set at a total of 60000 pesos was accepted by the sandiganbayan’s second division

Garcia’s plea bargaining agreement however REMAINS UNAPPROVED. Garcia’s liberty was provisionally approved.

The release order was also released yesterday with the approval of the bail.

The following is the full text of the  short resolution.

Garcia will not be sentenced today as the sandiganbayan goes into Christmas party mode.

This pertains to the urgent motion to post bail filed by accused mgen carlos f garcaa who invokes his constitutional right to bail after having pleaded guilty to direct bribery under art 210 of the RPC and viol of sec 4b of ra 9160 or the anti money laundering law.

In the light of the aforesaid circumstances and considering that the offenses to which the accused pleaded guilty are bailable, the court hereby  resolves to allow  the accused mgen carlos f Garcia to post bail for his provisional liberty in the amount of 30000 for each case and in cash. Further the issuance of a personal check by atty constantino b de jesus the defense counsel to cover he total amount of 60000 shall be accepted
